Alex's 2024 is the current year, and is a leap year starting on Monday of the Gregorian calendar, the 2024th year of the Common Era (CE) and Anno Domini (AD) designations, the 24th year of the 3rd millennium and the 21st century, and the 5th year of the 2020s decade.
Following the major adjustments in his life throughout 2023 with the major loss of gymnastics coaching and cheer, he made his big return in 2024 at a new club called Royalty All Stars. Alex began training in January of 2024 and was pretty much normal. In cheer, Alex confirmed he was originally going to be in two teams but was quickly changed to participate in only one team by April 2024. Outside of Cheer, Alex continued to play Darts and hit his first official 180 in May 2024, and has participated in multiple tournaments already. He will conclude his 2024 cheer season in December 2024. He hit his first unofficial 170 peg in July 2024.
2024 will be a much bigger year for Alex in terms of cheer and darts, though has multiple negatives too. Alex considers 2024 as a start of a new "era" in his life. Alex will also turn 20 in 2024, leaving his teen years behind.
Loss of coaching gymnastics and moving clubs[edit | edit source]
In early 2022, Alex became a assistant "beginner" gymnastics coach and gained qualifications to become a full coach by that October. In December 2022, after being given lots of work and was overloaded. He managed to pull through and completed 2022 off strong. In 2023, after coaching five days a week and being exhausted from the job, he decided he needed to leave it behind after a big decision had to be made.
Alex though, confirmed in August 2023, he will return to Cheer for the 2024 season, after a 12 month hiatus. During this time, Alex sadly lost his uncle, who was there for him from the beginning, in September 2023.
The new year started with Alex watching a Darts Competition in which his brother participated in. He returned home soon after and began cheer training at the end of the month. By January 31, Alex
Tigers is part of the Wednesday night league in North Eastern Darts Association (NEDA) and plays in the top division known as Division 1, whilst the lower division is Division 2. They only won two nights throughout the 2024 Summer Season and placed last on the ladder.
In 2023, following his departure of his cheer and gymnastics club, Alex decided he wanted to continue to doing cheer in 2024 at a different club, later being confirmed to be Royalty All Stars. In late July 2023, Alex rejoined darts and began taking the sport seriously by December 2023.
Whilst australian cheer athletes don't have a contract that lasts more than a single year, Alex decided to make his own custom contract for himself all the way back in January 2018. This contract stated Alex had until 2024 to do the sport until he either had to resign a new contract or stop doing cheer. In late-June 2024, Alex decided to sign on an extra year extending his contract to December 2025. He will make a decision on extending his contract in 2025 and said he will decide by September 2025.
Throughout the 2024 cheer season, Alex has continued to improve upon his jumps in his routines and has earned himself a spot near the front of the stage during that portion of the routine. Alex's jumps are pretty difficult being a double toe-touch and then a pike. However, he must do a forwards roll in between the second toe-touch and the pike, whilst being in sync with the person to his left/right and the others behind him. Alex has retained his ability to do a perfect forwards roll and most hopes to return to doing front-tucks on a trampoline at a trampoline park facility.
In mid-2017, Alex became obsessed with stunting and ultimately found that was his favorite aspect of the sport. By November 2019, Alex fell in love with tumbling however always felt stunting was always his favorite as it was the easiest for him to do.
Throughout 2017, Alex was a backspot and did a list of skills including prep, braced extension, and teddy bear. Alex was always a backspot due to him being the tallest in team. He continued to be a backspot in 2018 with the same team and had a different flyer. In 2019, Alex was originally a frontspot but was turned into a backspot when someone else left the team. Alex did lots of skills that were level 3 in stunting and enjoyed the skills as they were more fun than level 1 skills. Alex did not do cheer throughout 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic shutting down the club. In 2021, Alex returned to doing level 1 and 2 routines and didn't enjoy it as much as level 3 stunting.
Cheer competitions are held in three venues in Adelaide: the Adelaide Entertainment Centre, the 36re Arena, and Priceline Stadium. Alex goes to each competition when they are held. The first competition was Cheercon's Icebreaker from June 29 through June 30 and was held at Priceline Stadium. Alex did not compete in that one, but did in the competition that was held a week later on July 6 through to July 7. The third competition will be held on August 17 through to August 18. The fourth competition will be held on
