Iron Man is the first season of the Warriorverse spinoff television series based on the Marvel Comics character Tony Stark / Iron Man, created for HBO Max by Jackson Greene. The season premiered on March 12, 2026, and consists of 23 episodes. Set within the continuity of the Warriorverse, the series follows Tony Stark as he rebuilds StarkTech, develops new armor technology, and uncovers rising metahuman-linked threats that lead directly into his later crossover appearances in School Warrior.
Robert Downey Jr. reprises his role as Tony Stark, starring alongside Gwyneth Paltrow, Jacob Tremblay, Nick Creegan, Hailee Steinfeld, and Asa Butterfield. The season explores political escalation, new armored enemies, and Tony’s struggle to redefine his purpose in a world increasingly shaped by metahuman forces.

Premise
Months after the Malibu Incident, Tony Stark begins modernizing StarkTech to confront a new era of metahuman-related crises. Corporate warfare, government pressure, and armored adversaries emerge as Tony attempts to stabilize a volatile world. His investigations ultimately tie into the Midvale disturbances, connecting him to Miles Porter, Silverman, and Kendra Vale as he becomes a central strategist within the growing Warriorverse conflict.

Production
Development
In mid-2025, HBO Max greenlit Iron Man as a Warriorverse spinoff series with a planned 23-episode first season. Jackson Greene was announced as showrunner, developing the series as a structural companion to School Warrior. Robert Downey Jr. signed on to reprise his role as Tony Stark with expanded creative input.
Writing
The season follows a three-Graphic Novel structure, focusing on Tony's reconstruction of StarkTech, the rise of armored opposition, and his emotional struggle with responsibility. Greene supervised the season arc while individual episodes were written by a rotating writers' room of Warriorverse contributors.
Filming
Principal photography took place from July 2025 to March 2026 across Malibu, Vancouver, and soundstages in Sydney.
Release
