Max Mad (born 5 August 1996) is an American professional darts player who competes in International Darts Federation (IDF) events. Nicknamed "Mayhem", he is a two-time IDF World Champion, having won the title in 2023 and 2024, becoming the first player to win back-to-back IDF World Championships. He is also a World Matchplay and World Grand Prix champion.

Mad began his career in Texas amateur leagues before turning professional in 2018.

Playing style[edit | edit source]

Mad is known for his quick throw, high-scoring volatility, and emotional stage presence. He frequently throws within seconds of stepping to the oche, and his ability to produce rapid scoring bursts has earned him the nickname "Mayhem". He thrives in high-energy environments and often engages with the crowd, though this can occasionally impact his consistency.

He has been compared to players such as Peter Wright and Wayne Mardle for his charisma and unpredictability. Despite his inconsistency, Mad has built a reputation for delivering in high-pressure moments and has recorded victories over many of the top-ranked players in the IDF.

Career[edit | edit source]

Mad rose through regional competitions in Texas before gaining recognition on the international stage. His breakthrough came with his first IDF World Championship title in 2023, which he successfully defended in 2024.

In 2025, he expanded his major honours by winning the World Matchplay and the World Grand Prix, establishing himself as one of the leading players of his era. He also claimed the IDF Hobart Throwdown.
