Strikepoint is a series of military first-person shooter video games developed by Volt Interactive and published by Vertex Interactive. The series emphasizes large-scale multiplayer warfare with an emphasis on tactical coordination, destructible environments, and near-future technology. The games are set in a fictional timeline that mixes real-world conflicts with speculative geopolitical scenarios. Since its debut in 2024, the franchise has sold over 73 million units worldwide.
Gameplay[edit | edit source]
Strikepoint games are centered around online team-based multiplayer battles across expansive combat zones. Players can engage in infantry combat or operate a variety of vehicles, including tanks, helicopters, drones, and armored transports. A flexible class system allows players to assume specialized roles such as Assault, Engineer, Recon, or Support, each with unique abilities and gadgets.
Since Strikepoint: Collapse (2024), the franchise has included dynamic weather and environment deformation powered by the custom-built PyroShift engine. The engine enables real-time structural collapse, terrain shifting, and advanced particle effects. A signature element of the series is its tactical ping and command wheel, which supports coordinated team movement without voice chat.
Progression systems reward experience with unlockable gear, skins, attachments, and squad bonuses. Melee combat and dog tag retrieval mechanics were introduced in Strikepoint: Collapse, further enhancing close-quarters engagements.

Development[edit | edit source]
Strikepoint was conceived in 2020 by creative director Nathan Grahn and technical lead Ilana Wei. The original concept aimed to blend the spectacle of cinematic war games with a tighter focus on realism and command dynamics. Strikepoint: Collapse launched in 2024 to positive reception, praised for its robust squad mechanics and destructible maps.
Each sequel has expanded on the sandbox nature of combat, with new titles introducing larger player counts (up to 128 in Arc Radiant), AI battlefield agents, modular loadouts, and scenario-based operations. The franchise saw a major jump in production values following Vertex Interactive's acquisition of Volt Interactive in 2019.
Strikepoint: Collapse (2024) was marketed as the darkest entry in the series, featuring a storyline set during a global communications breakdown and proxy wars between megacorporations and sovereign states. It introduced persistent world events and map-altering decisions that carried across seasonal content.
Reception[edit | edit source]
The series has been both commercially successful and critically mixed, depending on the entry. Strikepoint: Horizon and Siege were lauded for their innovation in map design and environmental realism. Null Protocol suffered from network instability and sparse content at launch, but post-launch updates recovered much of its player base.
Strikepoint: Arc Radiant became the franchise’s highest-selling game with over 18 million copies sold within its first year. Critics noted its complex terrain physics and near-future vehicle warfare as franchise highlights.
Collapse received praise for its storytelling and visual fidelity, though some critics felt the game sacrificed balance for spectacle. The introduction of map-wide collapse triggers and corporate faction warfare was polarizing among longtime players.
Spin-offs[edit | edit source]
Strikepoint Mobile[edit | edit source]
A free-to-play mobile version of the franchise titled Strikepoint: Redline was soft-launched in select regions in August 2023. Featuring scaled-down 6v6 combat, simplified gadgets, and touch-based controls, it was developed by Fireglass Mobile and uses a custom version of the PyroShift engine.
Future[edit | edit source]
As of August 2025, Volt Interactive confirmed that the next mainline title is in early development and will explore post-war rebuilding scenarios with asymmetric warfare between militia factions and autonomous drones. A reveal is expected in early 2026.
