The Zerra Halo 6 is a smartphone developed and marketed by Zerra Technologies. Announced on September 22, 2015, it succeeded the Zerra Halo 5 and introduced durability and water resistance as central features of the Halo line. It was the last Halo model to include a 3.5 mm headphone jack, marking the end of an era before the company’s shift toward fully wireless audio and thinner designs in the Zerra Halo X.

History[edit | edit source]

The Halo 6 was conceived as a refinement of the OLED design introduced with the Halo 5, while focusing on durability and longer battery life. It marked the first time Zerra implemented full IP67 water and dust resistance, making it more rugged than previous models.

It launched with ZerraOS 5 and was supported with updates through ZerraOS 8.

Design[edit | edit source]

The Halo 6 retained the flat-panel glass design of the Halo 5 but included a stronger aluminum chassis and reinforced corners to improve drop resistance. The 5.2 inches (130 mm) Eclipse OLED panel was larger than its predecessor, but the bezels were still more pronounced than the near-borderless designs that would appear in the Halo X.

It was sold in three finishes: Frost Gray, Midnight Blue, and Forest Green.

Specifications[edit | edit source]

Hardware[edit | edit source]

Powered by the Z-Core Fusion+ chip with 4 GB of RAM, the Halo 6 offered storage tiers of 64, 128, and 256 GB. Its 3,200 mAh[convert: unknown unit] battery supported 15 W fast charging via Z-Port 2.

Display[edit | edit source]

The 5.2 inches (130 mm) Eclipse OLED display had a resolution of 1920×1080 at 424 ppi, with better contrast and power efficiency than the LCD panels used in earlier models.

Cameras[edit | edit source]

The Halo 6 featured a single 20 MP wide rear camera with optical image stabilization (OIS). It was praised for sharpness and color reproduction, though it lacked the dual-camera versatility that would become standard in later Halo devices.

The front-facing camera was an 8 MP sensor, one of the highest-resolution selfie cameras available in 2015.

Software[edit | edit source]

The device shipped with ZerraOS 5, which included improved multitasking features and better integration with Zerra Cloud. It later received updates up to ZerraOS 8, which introduced expanded widgets and early AI-based photography enhancements.

Reception[edit | edit source]

The Halo 6 was positively received for its durability, waterproofing, OLED display, and strong camera performance. Reviewers also praised its comfortable 5.2-inch form factor, though some criticized its bezels as dated compared to competitors moving toward edge-to-edge designs. The headphone jack was appreciated at launch, though it became a notable point of nostalgia after its removal in the Halo X.
