=== Fourth round ===
The fourth round was played on 29–30 December in best-of-seven-set matches and determined the quarter-final line-up. In the top section of the draw, Max Mad defeated Aiden Brooks 4–3 in the closest match of the section. The match remained evenly balanced, with neither player able to establish a decisive lead before Mad secured the deciding set to progress. He was joined in the quarter-finals by Alex Brow, who defeated Zion Carter 4–1. Brow controlled the match through consistent scoring and held an advantage throughout the middle stages, limiting Carter to a single set despite Carter maintaining a high scoring rate.

In the second section, Gage Kelly progressed after a 4–3 victory over Kade Owens. The match was level entering the final set, where Kelly secured the deciding set to advance. Damon Edwards also moved through after defeating Dominic Steele 4–3 in another deciding-set encounter. Edwards recovered after the match had remained close through the early stages and secured progression late in the contest.

Patrick Lane advanced from the third section with a 4–2 victory over Hayden Ingram, maintaining a steady lead after the opening sets. Alfie Hamilton joined him in the quarter-finals after defeating Wesley Glover 4–3 in a closely contested match in which the lead changed multiple times before Hamilton secured the final set. In the final section, Wyatt Walker defeated Kai Mitchell 4–0 to advance, while Logan White overcame Parker Reeves 4–2. White then defeated Ethan Steel 4–3 in a deciding-set match to complete the quarter-final line-up.

=== Quarter-finals ===
The quarter-finals were played on 1 January in best-of-nine-set matches. Alex Brow produced the most decisive performance of the round, defeating top seed and two-time defending champion Max Mad 5–1. Brow established an early advantage by winning the opening sets and maintained control through consistent scoring and finishing. Mad, although maintaining a three-figure average, was unable to apply sustained pressure and won only a single set before Brow secured victory. The result ended Mad’s title defence and ensured a first-time champion would be crowned. In the other match in the top half, Gage Kelly defeated Damon Edwards 5–4 in the closest contest of the round. The match remained level throughout, with neither player leading by more than a single set. Kelly ultimately secured the deciding ninth set after both players recorded similar scoring rates across the match.
In the bottom half of the draw, Alfie Hamilton overcame Patrick Lane 5–4 in another deciding-set match. Lane began strongly and held an early lead, but Hamilton recovered during the middle portion of the match to bring the score level. The players exchanged sets through the latter stages before Hamilton secured the final set to progress to the semi-finals. Both players maintained comparable scoring throughout the match, with finishing accuracy determining the outcome in the closing sets. The victory marked Hamilton’s deepest run in the tournament.

The final quarter-final saw Logan White defeat Wyatt Walker 5–0. White controlled the match from the opening set and did not concede a set, producing the highest level of scoring of the round. Walker remained competitive in individual legs but was unable to convert key finishing opportunities. White’s victory completed the semi-final line-up and confirmed that all four remaining players were appearing in the World Championship semi-finals for the first time. The results set the semi-finals as Alex Brow against Gage Kelly and Alfie Hamilton against Logan White.

=== Semi-finals ===
Alex Brow defeated Gage Kelly 6–3 to reach his first IDF World Championship final. Brow began strongly, taking the opening set before Kelly responded to level the match. Brow then established control through superior scoring in the middle stages, winning three consecutive sets to move into a 4–1 lead. Kelly reduced the deficit by claiming the sixth set and later added another to narrow the match to 5–3. However, Brow secured the ninth set to complete a 6–3 victory.

Brow maintained a higher scoring rate throughout the match and produced the majority of the high finishes, while Kelly remained competitive but was unable to recover after the mid-match deficit. The result ensured Brow became the first player from his section of the draw to reach the final.

Logan White defeated Alfie Hamilton 6–2 to advance to the final. White opened the match by winning the first two sets and extended his advantage to 3–0 before Hamilton claimed his first set. White responded by taking the following two sets to establish a 5–1 lead. Hamilton won the seventh set to delay the result, but White secured the next set to complete the 6–2 victory.

White’s scoring consistency and finishing efficiency proved decisive, particularly in the early stages where he built an advantage that Hamilton was unable to overturn. The win sent White into his first World Championship final and completed the tournament’s first final between two debut finalists.[[File:AlexBrowImage.png|thumb|188x188px]]

The final, a best-of-13-sets match between Alex Brow and Logan White, was played on 3 January and refereed by Russ Bray, who in early 2025 had announced that he would officiate only the final of future International Darts Federation (IDF) World Championships. It marked the first IDF World Championship final appearance for both players and was the first final in the event’s history to feature two debut finalists. Brow reached the final after defeating Chase Foster, Lukas Parker, Zion Carter, Max Mad, and Gage Kelly, while White defeated Liam Nelson, Ethan Steel (12), Luke Littler (13), Parker Reeves, Wyatt Walker (16), and Alfie Hamilton. Brow opened the match with a 10-dart leg but failed in a nine-dart finish attempt in the following leg, which White won. White then won the next two legs to take the opening set 3–1 and extended his advantage by winning the next three sets to establish a 4–0 lead, maintaining the stronger scoring during the early stages of the match.

Following the mid-match interval, Brow increased his scoring output and won the next two sets 3–0 before taking the following set to reduce the deficit to 4–3. He then won the next two sets to move ahead 5–4 and secured two further sets without reply to complete a 7–4 victory, overturning a four-set deficit. Brow won the IDF World Championship for the first time, losing seven sets throughout the tournament and not facing a match dart in any match. He became the second champion in the event’s history after Max Mad, who had won the 2023 and 2024 editions, and the result improved his position in the IDF Order of Merit.

After the presentation ceremony, both players took part in the customary televised interviews and media appearances. Brow described the title as the most important result of his career and admitted that he had struggled to find rhythm during the opening stages of the match, stating that he had to "reset" during the interval after falling four sets behind. He noted that he deliberately slowed his pace at the oche following the break and focused on scoring consistency rather than finishing opportunities, crediting White’s early performance for applying pressure. Brow added that winning the championship had been a long-term objective and said he now aimed to defend the title, commenting that he hoped to follow the example set by Max Mad’s consecutive championships and that his next goal was to "come back next year and do it again." He also thanked tournament officials, referees, and spectators for the support throughout the event before posing for photographs with the trophy.

White congratulated Brow during his interview and described the defeat as disappointing but valuable experience, saying that reaching the final had shown him he could compete at the highest level of the circuit. He acknowledged that Brow’s scoring after the interval had prevented him from regaining control of the match and remarked that he was unable to match the sustained scoring in the latter stages. White stated he intended to return to the tournament with the aim of challenging for the title in future editions. Tournament representatives noted that the final featured two first-time finalists and highlighted the competitiveness of the current field. Following the interviews, Brow completed additional media duties and winner’s photographs, while White remained on stage for the runner-up presentation and subsequent press obligations.

The 2025 IDF World Darts Championship was a professional darts tournament that was held from 10 December 2024 to 7 January 2025 at the Alexandra Palace in London, England. It was the 3rd World Darts Championship to be organised by the International Darts Federation (IDF) and the 3rd to be held at Alexandra Palace. The winner received £500,000 from a total prize fund of £2,500,000.

The tournament featured 96 players, with the top 32 highest ranked players on the IDF Order of Merit being seeded into the second round. Max Mad was the defending champion after defeating Rhys Morgan 6–2 in the 2024 final. However, Mad lost 5–1 to Alex Brow in the quarter-finals. In the final, Alex Brow overcome a determined Logan White in a 7–4 win for the title.

Alex Brow won the title on debut, becoming the second player to do so after Mad in 2023. Brow defeated Chase Foster 3–0 in the second round, he defeated Lukas Parker 4–0 in the third round, he defeated Zion Carter 4–1 in the fourth round, he defeated Mad 5–1 in the quarter-finals, he defeated Gage Kelly 6–1 to reach the final. In the final, he overcome a determined Logan White in a 7–4 win for the title. Brow hit a nine-dart finish in his semi-final match.

Overview[edit | edit source]

In December 2024, the International Darts Federation announced they would be hosting multiple tournaments throughout 2025. They confirmed the biggest tournament is the IDF World Darts Championship which, at the time, had no date of when it would be hosted. The championship is the largest of all the IDF events featuring over 90 players, with the top 32 highest ranked players on the IDF Order of Merit seeded through to the second round. Players ranked 33rd to 64th on the Order of Merit, and 32 other players from various qualifiers, started in the first round.

On January 15, 2025, it was announced that the event would be held from June 17 through to June 24, 2025. They announced that the event would use the sets format instead of the legs format and would be a much longer event for the players. The IDF announced that they would donate £1,000 to charity Prostate Cancer UK for every maximum score of 180 achieved during the tournament. Additionally, they inaugurated the Ballon d'Art for the player who achieved the most maximum scores throughout the event.

Format[edit | edit source]

All matches were played as straight in, double out, requiring the players to score 501 points to win a leg, finishing on a double. The matches were played in the set format, with a minimum of three sets required to win a match. The following rules were observed:

  • All sets were played to the best of five legs in the first round, and also in non-deciding sets of subsequent rounds.
  • In the deciding set of all but the first round, the first player to win at least three legs and be leading by two or more won the set and the match. If the set reached a 5–5 tie without a winner, it was decided by a sudden-death leg with no throw for the bull.
Round Best of (sets) First to (sets)
First & Second 5 3
Third & Fourth 7 4
Quarter-finals 9 5
Semi-finals 11 6
Final 13 7

Ranking[edit | edit source]

Rankings in the IDF Order of Merit are calculated on a two-year basis. Most of the players were planning on saving their IDF Order of Merit prize money from the 2023 IDF World Darts Championship; in which if they didn't reach at least the fourth round, they would lose the money they originally gained. At the end of the tournament, the IDF Order of Merit prize money from that event was deleted from their rankings. After the tournament, the top 64 in the IDF Order of Merit received a one-year extension on their tour card. Seeding[edit | edit source]

The world number two Alex Brow will be number two seed going into the tournament.

Seeding for the tournament was conducted in a different format compared with the 2023 and 2024 editions. In February 2025, it was announced that the field would expand to 96 players, with 32 seeded players receiving byes into the second round. Reigning world champion Max Mad was named the top seed, having won both the 2023 and 2024 IDF World Darts Championships as well as the 2023 World Matchplay, results that elevated him to world number one on the IDF Order of Merit. Alex Brow was seeded second; although he had not won a major title, consistent success in non-major tournaments during 2023 and 2024 allowed him to accumulate sufficient prize money to reach world number two.

The reigning world champion Max Mad was the number one seed after winning the back-to-back. He is the current world number one. The number two seed is Alex Brow, who narrowly lost to Lukas Parker in the Home Masters final. He also had an impressive 2025, claiming victory at the Australian Open and consistently challenging Mad's supremacy. His status as world number two underscores his determination to dethrone Parker. Meanwhile, Parker secures the third seed after showcasing his exceptional talent in the IDF Premiere League, establishing himself as one of the most promising players of the year.

Blake Carter holds the fourth seed following his remarkable performance on the IDF Australian Tour, where he dominated every event, losing only 5% of his games. His consistency and precision have marked him as a formidable competitor. Ryan Thomas, Nate Parker, Mason Owens, and Aiden Brooks complete the top eight seeds, each bringing their own strategic prowess and competitive edge to the championship.

Pro Tour qualification[edit | edit source]

Unlike the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC), the IDF provides additional qualification routes through non-major events on the Pro Tour and Players Championship circuits. On the Pro Tour, players qualify automatically by either winning three events or reaching the quarter-finals on five occasions. In the Players Championships, qualification requires accumulating 150 points before a set deadline, with points awarded for each round. The system prevents players from securing the total solely through a handful of appearances, instead requiring consistent participation and strong results. Although Alex Brow won only Pro Tour events, he was listed on the main IDF Order of Merit, which made Oscar Peterson the highest-ranked non-seed on the 2025 Pro Tour Order of Merit. Peterson was one of four Pro Tour event winners to qualify for the World Championship, alongside Patrick Richards, Reed Scott, and Spencer Taylor. Two players who reached finals of IDF majors in 2025 also qualified via the Pro Tour: Tanner Vaughn at the IDF European Championship and Uriah Walker at the Grand Slam of Darts. Their consistent form across the season ensured their places at the 2025 IDF World Darts Championship.

Other players qualifying via the 2025 Pro Tour included event winners from 2024, such as Vince Young, Wesley Adams, Xavier Baker, and Zion Carter, as well as 2025 UK Open semi-finalist and 2025 Pro Tour event runner-up Andy Dawson. Brady Evans, a 2024 World Championship semi-finalist and 2023 Pro Tour event winner, also qualified alongside Chase Foster, the 2025 Challenge Tour Order of Merit winner and a Pro Tour event runner-up in both the 2024 and 2025 seasons. Derek Greene, a 2025 Pro Tour event runner-up, qualified via both the 2025 Pro Tour and the IDF Nordic and Baltic circuit but was drawn as a Pro Tour qualifier. Other players qualifying via their Pro Tour ranking included Elliott Harris and Frank James, each showing remarkable consistency and resilience throughout the competitive season. Wesley Adams and James Hurrell are set to make their IDF World Darts Championship debuts, adding an extra layer of excitement to the tournament lineup.

International qualifiers[edit | edit source]

Gage Kelly, Harrison Lewis, Isaiah Mitchell, Jonah Nelson, and Kade Owens qualified through the IDF Youth Tour, showcasing exceptional talent and consistency throughout the series. Micah Quinn, Nathan Reeves, and Oliver Sanders earned their spots through the IDF Development Tour, marking their emergence as rising stars in the sport. Reece Hargrove, Sam Kendrick, and Tyler Montague secured qualification from the IDF Challenge Tour, demonstrating their competitive edge and determination.

Zachary Clayton and Ashton Barrett qualified through the IDF North American Tour, while Brandon Lawson and Curtis Monroe earned their places via the IDF European Tour, representing a growing international presence in the competition. Dominic Steele and Ethan Langley made their way through the IDF UK Tour, with Felix Thornton and Gavin Calloway advancing from the IDF Oceanic Tour.

Hayden Sharpe and Jason Beaumont claimed qualification spots through the IDF Latin American Tour, while Kieran Doyle and Lewis Aldridge emerged from the IDF African Tour. Max Chambers and Nick Hawthorne progressed through the IDF Asian Tour, showcasing the expanding global reach of darts.

Oscar Milton, Patrick Lane, Quentin Marsh, Riley Chapman, and Sebastian West earned their positions via the IDF International Qualifiers, highlighting the worldwide appeal of the championship. Debutants from the regional qualifiers include Tristan Fielding, Victor Carmichael, Ashton Barrett, and Dominic Steele, each poised to make their mark on the 2025 IDF World Darts Championship stage.

Zion Carter continued his impressive run, defeating Blake Carter 3-1 with a stunning 112.07 average, showcasing his title credentials. Carter’s high scoring and precision finishing proved too much for Blake Carter, who posted a respectable 97.60 average. Carter will face Brady Evans in the next round, following Evans’ narrow 3-2 victory over Ryan Thomas. Evans, with a 94.59 average, held off Thomas’ 94.30 in a back-and-forth match, displaying resilience in key moments. Grant’s 101.02 average showcased his high-scoring ability, while Nelson, despite a respectable 89.95, struggled to keep pace. Kade Owens edged past Zane Adams 3-2 in a tense matchup, averaging 88.19 to Adams’ 84.29. Owens’ consistency in finishing key legs proved decisive. Clarke moves on to face Dominic Steele, who secured a narrow 3-2 win over Caleb Daniels in a closely contested battle. Colby’s finishing proved crucial in the deciding leg, securing his progression to face Wyatt Walker in the next round. Kai Mitchell advanced with a comfortable 3-0 victory over Hayden Sharpe, averaging 79.85. Sharpe, who posted a 69.92 average, failed to apply pressure as Mitchell remained in control throughout. Mitchell will face Jason Beaumont in the next round after Beaumont’s narrow 3-2 win over Victor Vaughn. Beaumont’s 86.38 average was just enough to overcome Vaughn’s 84.29, with both players trading legs before Beaumont sealed the decisive one.

Liam Nelson put in an excellent performance to defeat Lewis Aldridge 3-2 in one of the tightest matches of the round. Nelson averaged 99.74, while Aldridge also impressed with a 96.79 average, but Nelson’s stronger finishing made the difference. Reeves’ 104.77 average was one of the highest of the round, narrowly outscoring Sanders’ 99.79 in a contest that could have gone either way. Logan White delivered one of the best performances of the tournament so far, defeating Ethan Steel 3-2 with an exceptional 111.87 average. Steel, despite an outstanding 109.96 average, found himself on the losing end of a match that featured high scoring and clinical finishing. White’s victory sets up a third-round clash with Luke Littler, who defeated Victor Vaughn 3-0 with a strong 97.07 average. Littler controlled the match, preventing Vaughn, who averaged 94.02, from gaining any momentum.

Mad maintained control during the latter stages of the match to secure progression to the fourth round. Aiden Brooks also moved through after defeating Tanner Vaughn 4–0. Owens averaged 102.63 while Adams averaged 101.88 in a closely contested encounter.

Zion Carter continued his strong tournament run, defeating Brady Evans 4–1 with a 105.98 average. Evans averaged 94.59 but was unable to match Carter’s finishing efficiency. Fourth round[edit | edit source]

Quarter-finals[edit | edit source]

Semi-finals[edit | edit source]

The win sent White into his first World Championship final and completed the tournament’s first final between two debut finalists.

Final[edit | edit source]

Russ Bray returned to officiate the final.

Final[edit | edit source]

The final will be played on January 7, 2025, at the Winter Gardens in Blackpool. The final match will determine the champion of the 2025 IDF World Darts Championship.

Statistics[edit | edit source]

Highest averages[edit | edit source]

This table shows all averages over 100 achieved by players throughout the tournament. For players with multiple high averages, this is indicated by the number in brackets.

The three-dart average is the most cited statistic in darts matches as it gives a rough estimate of a player's form. For comparison with previous years, see the highest ever recorded averages in the World Darts Championship.

Broadcasting[edit | edit source]

The tournament will be broadcast live globally, with streaming available through the official IDF website and other broadcasting partners.
