| Three months after Hunter Zoloman's defeat, Miles Porter continues his role as Velocity, balancing his duties as a hero with the challenges of fatherhood. Kendra Vale steps back from her role at the Daily Planet, assigning Jason Smith to lead the team of reporters, including Sophia Cruz and Linda Park, who now uses her investigative skills for positive impact. Captain Jack Wells begins working on an initiative to officially integrate Velocity as part of the Midvale City Police Department (MCPD). Meanwhile, Dr. Alana Cross reassures Miles and Kendra that their daughter, Grace Porter, shows no signs of meta-human abilities and is a healthy baby. During a routine crime intervention, Miles experiences an uncontrollable outburst of speed connected to the Speed Force. The mysterious return of Lila Vance, previously killed by Victor Blackthorn, adds to the intrigue as she reveals no memory of how she was resurrected. While investigating the disturbance, Miles is pulled into the Speed Force, where he encounters Doctor Alchemy, a powerful adversary who blames Miles for his imprisonment and vows vengeance. After narrowly escaping, Miles warns his team of the impending threat. Lila, now reunited with Kendra, expresses gratitude for her belief in her before her untimely death. | ||||||||||||

Miles arrives to confront Alchemy, engaging in a fierce battle that ends with Alchemy threatening to destroy the Speed Force to ensure his freedom. Just as Miles is nearly defeated, Emily intervenes, using advanced technology to send Alchemy away and reconcile with Miles. Kendra enlists Jason, Sophia, and Linda to investigate a shadowy organization operating in Midvale City but discovers that exposing them may be more difficult than anticipated. Meanwhile, Alchemy approaches Emily, sowing seeds of doubt about her trust in the team and offering her a chance to join his crusade. Emily, however, rejects his offer. Miles begins experiencing debilitating pain and losing control of his powers, while Alchemy gains access to speedster abilities. Emily confesses that Alchemy approached her with an offer to join him, which she rejected. Using his growing strength, Alchemy opens a portal to the Speed Force, summoning several metahumans whose powers he consumes to further amplify his abilities. Meanwhile, Linda and Jason confront Jackson Tate, uncovering his secret development of technology designed to strip metahumans of their abilities. Tate reveals his justification: a desire to protect Midvale City at any cost. He also admits to facilitating Alchemy's escape from the Speed Force, hoping Alchemy would eliminate Velocity. Despite Jason contacting Wells to have Tate arrested, the lack of sufficient evidence forces the authorities to release him. | ||||||||||||

| Miles discovers that to defeat Alchemy and restore stability to the Speed Force, he must enter it and sacrifice a portion of his speed. Initially reluctant, he ultimately agrees, reducing his abilities but preventing the Speed Force from collapsing. Meanwhile, Tate attacks Jason, who debuts a non-lethal upgrade to his Steel suit during their battle. Jason manages to fend off Tate, who escapes, but gains praise from MCPD officers for his new technology. Upon returning from the Speed Force, Miles confronts an overpowered Alchemy, whose rampant consumption of metahuman abilities leaves him unstable. In their climactic battle, Miles manages to overpower and defeat Alchemy, resulting in the villain's death. With the threat eliminated, Jason shares his plans to further protect Midvale City, Kendra finds newfound confidence as a mother, and the team celebrates their hard-fought victory. Development
In March 2025, Netflix renewed the series for a third season with 20 episodes. The series was originally intended to conclude with the second season without having a third season, however HBO Max had the series renewed after buying rights to it and ordered a season that will have 20 episodes.
Writing
When Goodwin wrote the second season, he wrote it as a final season. After he found out the series was revived and renewed for a third season, with a much larger 20 episode order, Goodwin decided to keep the second season as it is and just focus on telling a story with any future season. He announced that the third season would be split up into mini storyline arcs called "Graphic Novels", and would feature small "interlude" filler episodes between each.
Discussing the events of the first graphic novel, Goodwin said the villain would be very powerful, but not the strongest villain of the season. Goodwin announced that the Reverse-Velocity would return in the season at some point and would play a "vital role" in the story. Goodwin confirmed Bart Allen's return at some point too.
Release
The season premiered on October 16, 2026, and will conclude in mid-2027.
